QUS – The Smart Textile

QUS smart textiles, offering high wearing comfort and 100% washability, enable the monitoring of vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, and movement data to provide insights into a person’s stress level, fatigue, and overall fitness.

These precise data points can save lives in both military and civilian applications, help prevent accidents, support tactical decision-making, reduce stress, and improve physical performance. After the digitalization of machines, vehicles, weapon systems, and more, the human being — the most valuable of all resources — is once again moving into focus.

MARKET CHALLENGES

The market for wearable sensor technology faces several key challenges that have so far limited its progress:

01 02
Fragmented Solutions:
Many existing wearables provide inaccurate or incomplete data and cannot be integrated into professional systems.

Limited Scope of Application:
Most sensors are designed for specific purposes, such as sports or medicine, while a universally applicable solution is lacking.

03 04
Comfort & Usability:
Conventional measuring devices are often uncomfortable, intrusive, or require complex handling – a problem for athletes, soldiers, and emergency services alike.

Reliability & Validation:
Many current systems deliver insufficient or inaccurate values, making their use in safety-critical environments difficult.

05
Market Access & Acceptance:
Implementing new technologies in regulated markets such as the military is challenging and requires validated, proven solutions.

QUS addresses these challenges with a fully integrated, validated, and universally applicable smart textile solution that captures precise vital signs – seamlessly, reliably, and without limitations in usability.

Company Solution

smart textile

QUS offers a revolutionary answer to the challenges in the field of wearable sensor technology: a smart textile system that measures vital signs in real time – precisely, comfortably, and with versatile applications.

01 02
Seamless Integration:
Unlike conventional wearables, QUS is integrated directly into textiles and delivers highly precise data without the need for intrusive devices on the body.

Dual-Use Technology:
The QUS solution is suitable for both professional sports and safety-critical applications in the military, occupational safety, and other high-risk areas.

03 04
Expandability with Third-Party Sensors:
In addition to the existing sensor technology, we are open to integrating further third-party sensors, such as temperature sensors, to maximize the range of applications.

Validated Precision:
Our sensors have been tested using ECG and spirometry and meet the highest scientific standards.

Maximum Comfort:
The fully washable textile solution is comfortable to wear and requires no additional handling. Moreover, our technology can be integrated into existing gear and equipment.

Top Security Standards:
QUS complies with all relevant safety and data protection requirements, even for military applications. Our technology meets the highest encryption and security protocols to protect sensitive data.

Data-Driven Decision Making:
Whether for performance optimization in sports, overheating prevention in the military, or health monitoring – QUS provides essential data for smarter and safer decisions.

With this technology, QUS sets new standards in intelligent vital sign monitoring – reliable, versatile, and without compromise.

Business Model

The QUS business model is fundamentally focused on B2B clients. This means that QUS does not sell directly to end customers but collaborates with partners across various markets and application areas such as sports, military, and occupational safety. These partners are either already well established in their respective markets or have the ability to rapidly gain new market share due to their business model.

QUS builds its business on three main pillars:

1. Sale of Textiles and Hardware

The core of the QUS product portfolio is the smart textile or, in special cases, just the textile sensor technology, which can be integrated into almost any garment. The textiles are typically sold directly (rental models are possible). In continuous use scenarios – such as in military applications – an average of 5 garments per person is expected, usually replaced every 3 years. Each user also requires an on-board unit (OBU electronics), which is sold alongside the garments.

2. Sale of Software

The core of the software offering is the QUS Bodydata Platform, complemented by the QUS Dashboard. If customers choose not to host their data directly with QUS (e.g., military clients), the Bodydata Platform and Dashboard are offered as a white-label software package. Additionally, custom software adaptations are billed separately.

3. Recurring Revenue

QUS charges annual license fees per user for access to the QUS Bodydata Platform. If the platform is hosted by the customer, annual maintenance fees also apply. For specific applications, QUS offers a data-driven business model: “Vitaldata as a Service.”

Go-to-Market Strategy

QUS is currently focusing on three key markets:

Militär Einsatzkräfte Teamsport
Military Occupational Safety
(e.g., emergency services)
Team Sports

The goal is to form competent partnerships, both regionally and internationally, with companies that hold a strong position in their respective market and application areas.
This is especially important in the military sector, where collaboration with companies that already supply a nation’s armed forces is highly advantageous. QUS is also involved in various military research projects, which allow direct access to the respective armed forces and foster valuable contacts in addition to collaborative innovation.

Partner contacts are established either through targeted direct outreach or by attending trade shows and conferences. For example, QUS has exhibited alongside Rheinmetall at major defense expos such as Eurosatory and Enforcetec.

Targeted press and media coverage supports these marketing activities.
